The International Association of Predictive Linguistics (IAPL) is a scholarly society bringing together researchers dedicated to understanding how language anticipates, predicts, and orients thought toward what is not yet said.
The IAPL federates academic research in predictive linguistics, supports collaborative projects across languages and traditions, and disseminates findings to both scholarly and broader audiences.
We envisage predictive linguistics as a mature, trans-disciplinary field connecting the humanities with the cognitive and computational sciences.
Peer review, methodological transparency, and fidelity to primary sources.
Research conducted in and on many languages, with no tacit centre.
Open access to results whenever possible, and hospitality to emerging researchers.
Intellectual and editorial independence from commercial or political interests.
The IAPL is governed by a Board of Directors elected by its members, a Scientific Council responsible for the orientation of research programmes, and a General Assembly convened annually. The acting President is Prof. Mathieu Guidère, University of Paris.
